A VISIT TO ARIZONA IN FEBRUARY [Starting in Phoenix]
Spend a day in Phoenix. I visited the Zoo, Desert Botanical Garden and Pinnacle Peak. The Zoo and Botanical Gardens, though not large are right next to each other and both are worth some time. Both offer excellent opportunities for photography, the Zoo’s three Giraffes used up ten shots all by themselves.

The Zoo’s new monkey house will also occupy your lens and time as well as provide a touch of humor.

Zebras also give the camera a nice study in black and white.

The Desert Botanical Garden will astound you with an amazing variety of cactus and other desert plants, some of which you will see along the roads as drive thru Arizona.

You can take a tour by yourself, or join one of the group tours. I never realized that there were so many varieties of cactus. Their colors, shapes and sizes occupied my camera as I wandered thru this prickly wonderland. Although I did not visit at night, the garden is dramatically lighted and I am sure would make for some great photography. I have this high on my list for my next visit.

Pinnacle Peak is short drive away. This geological formation should be one of this days destinations.

I hope you have had some enjoyment accompanying me on this trip and I look forward to our travels together in the future. Please always remember to pay attention to the world around you, that way you will not miss many of life’s little and amazing surprises.
